iOS 17 was initially rumored to be a minor update considering the number of front-facing features it will bring to the table. It was later revealed by analyst Mark Gurman that iOS 17 will boast a redesigned Control Center interface along with other changes. Initial rumors of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 suggested that some older iPhone and iPad models will no longer support this year's updates. Now, iPhoneSoft has shared the list of iPad models that will drop support for Apple's upcoming iPadOS 17 platform.

The latest rumor corroborates the initial rumor, suggesting that the fifth-gen iPad, first-gen 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models will ditch support for iPadOS 17. The source has a credible track record when it comes to predicting iOS support for iPhone models. It was speculated by the source that the original iPhone SE and iPhone 6s will remove support for iOS 16. However, Apple also included the iPhone 7 in the list when the update was released to the public last year.
