AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX “Dragon Range” CPU Benchmark Leak: 8 Cores On Par With 16 Core 12900HX
New benchmarks of AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 7745HX "Dragon Range" CPU which features 8 cores based on the Zen 4 architecture have leaked out.
AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX "Dragon Range" CPU Shows Massive Multi-Thread Improvement, On Par With 16 Core 12900HX
The AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX is one of the four Dragon Range Laptop CPUs that will be available later this month. The CPU packs 8 cores, 16 threads, 40 MB of cache, and has a clock speed rated at 3.6 GHz base & 5.1 GHz boost. The CPU offers a TDP of 45W which can be configured beyond 75 Watts since overclocking is supported on this high-end and enthusiast-grade laptop chip.
The benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX were published by Bilibili content creator, Golden Pig Upgrade, who shows the chip running in Cinebench R23. The CPU is a retail model as confirmed by its base clock. The leaker mentions that the chip was operating at 95W so this might be overclocked or the extreme power limit that this chip offers.
In terms of performance, the AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX "Dragon Range" CPU scored an impressive 1828 points in single-core and 18,606 points in multi-core. This puts the chip on par with Intel's high-end Alder Lake-HX CPUs featuring up to 16 cores.
That's double the core count of this chip with similar performance. The single-core score puts it beyond the Core i9-11980HK as seen in the benchmark itself and should be comparable to other Alder Lake chips within the Core i7 segment.
