YouTube is Apparently Testing AI-Generated Quizzes to Check Whether You Have Learned Something from the Videos You Have Watched

Pause search and watch history in YouTube for iPhone, Android

A lot of people prefer using YouTube on their phones and tablets instead of their computers and while I am more comfortable with using it on my computer, it seems that the service actually has some really interesting tools for those who are using the platform on smartphones and tablet,s in general. Apparently, the platform is currently working on a new feature that will bring AI-generated quizzes, and these quizzes will be there to test your understanding of the subject covered in the video you are watching.

AI-generated quizzes on YouTube is a nice way to learn something valuable from educational videos

YouTube has updated its test features and experiments page; on that page, the platform has shared this information. This feature is still not widely rolling out to everyone, so if you have not gotten access to it, you will probably get it at some time in the future. Users will be able to see these AI-generated quizzes on the app's Home page on both iOS and Android versions.

This is what the official statement reads.

To make it easier for people to learn about topics they’re interested in, we’re experimenting with AI-generated quizzes on the YouTube mobile app Home feed. If you’re a viewer in the experiment, you may see these AI-generated quizzes start to pop up on your app homepage. The quizzes will test your understanding of a subject covered in a video you recently watched.

Participating in the quiz will cause the recently watched video to be linked under the quiz itself. This is there to help users catch up on some information that they may have missed when they watched it for the first time. Google has talked about how this experiment is currently rolling out to a small group of users who are using YouTube for Android or iOS. These quizzes will not be for every video a user watches and will most likely be tied to educational videos.

Honestly, the new feature we are talking about on YouTube could make it to the app's final version, or it may not. We are not sure if this is going to happen simply because the platform keeps testing new features all the time, and not all the features make it to the final version. Whatever the case might be, we will let you know if the feature actually makes its way to the app.
