Magician Took Matters in His Own Hands to Find His Lost Bag at The Airport Using AirTag That Cost Him Another Ticket

AirTag Finds Magician's Lost Bag at Airport

Apple's AirTag is one of the most important accessories that you should carry while traveling. The accessory has stepped in once again, reuniting a magician with his bag full of equipment for the next show. Magician Danny Orleans was on a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Newark for his next Trade Show when he came to know that the Airline had planned a magic trick of their own.

When the magician reached his desired location, he checked if his magic bag has reached him. Surprisingly, the bag made it to Newark just fine but did not make it to baggage claim. The man and his bag were in the same location but after waiting for a certain time, it did not arrive. Luckily, the magician came prepared as he had hidden an AirTag in the bag that went missing (via Business Insider).

Orleans checked the Find My app on his iPhone and found that his bag was sitting on the tarmac. The magician now had all the information he needed to confront the customer service. Orleans was told that his bag did not make it to Newark. He showed the location of his bag to the customer service representatives and they said that the airline can not do anything at the moment. The airline stated that his bag will be delivered to his hotel in five business days. However, Orleans's stay at Newark was for only three days. Furthermore, the magician needed his bag for the trade show.

With everything said and done, Orleans decided to look for the bag himself but it did cost him a ticket. Using the Find My app, Orleans identified that the bag rested somewhere around gate 90 of the airport while his place landed at gate 113. Henceforth, the magician had to buy another ticket to get to gate 90 of the airport. He bought a refundable ticket to Boston and made it through security to gate 90. On his way, the magician saw his bag casually resting on the Tarmac.

“It was just sitting on the tarmac,” he said. “The most frustrating thing is somebody walked past the luggage while I was watching it, and he just walked right past it, like it was not his job to get it.”

The magician asked one of the nearby United employees to get the bag for him. The employee stated that he had not experienced anything like that at the airport before. He simply picked up the bag and placed it into the proper channel so it could arrive at baggage claim. The entire operation took four hours but the magician finally got a hold of his bag all thanks to Apple's AirTag and the Find My app. Orleans stated that "it was an amazing journey, watching my luggage out of the tarmac."
