As the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 release date gets near, board partners are preparing to showcase their models of $299 mainstream gaming option.

MSI RTX 4060 Gaming X & Ventus 2X to Feature a Minimal Design With Less RGB This Time

MSI has finally unveiled four variants of the GeForce RTX 4060, the Gaming X, and the Ventus 2X Black. The MSI Gaming X and Ventus 2X RTX 4060 GPUs are designed with a minimal look different from what we saw in the RTX 30 series.

The MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X features a black and grey color scheme with a different backplate design. It is a lower-end model in the lineup and features a 2475 frequency for the Non-OC and 2505 MHz for the OC variant. It comes in a similar dual-fan configuration and is relatively one of the shorter RTX 4060 GPUs with a length of less than 20cm.

Regarding the GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming variants, MSI has made the decision to scale down the RGB on the GPU. RGB strips alongside the fan blades have been excluded. Only the "MSI" logo on the GPU's shroud comes with RGB lighting. There will be two options available, MSI Gaming and Gaming X, featuring different clock speeds. The RTX 4060 Gaming has a default clock speed of 2460 MHz, while the Gaming X will come at 2595 MHz.

For a brief recap, NVIDIA is expected to utilize the AD107-400-A1 GPU for the GeForce RTX 4060. The chip is expected to feature 3072 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 17 Gbps memory speeds across a 128-bit bus interface. That gives the card 272 GB/s bandwidth which is effectively rated at 453 GB/s or 26% more than the RTX 3060

The GeForce RTX 4060 lineup from MSI will launch on June 29th with a starting MSRP of $299. Basic variants such as the Non-OC will be available initially but as reported earlier, there won't be any FE (Founders Edition) variant. These models were up for display at Computex 2023, so you can have a real-life look at them here.
