Twitter Blue Verified Users Can Now Upload Entire Movies To The Micro-Blogging Social Network, But Like Everything Else, There Is A Limit

Twitter Blue

As part of Elon Musk’s plan to distinguish between verified and non-verified Twitter Blue subscribers, the former CEO of the micro-blogging social network is bringing a new perk that will most likely entice users to start paying for the service. Verified users can now upload entire movies to their account and from the looks of it, they will not be taken down, but as usual, there are some limitations to this, which we hope will be addressed in future updates.

The movies’ length and duration will be a limitation for verified Twitter Blue users

According to Musk’s official Twitter handle, Twitter Blue users can now upload 2-hour movies to the platform. Coming to the extra details, if you are a paying subscriber, the resolution and bitrate of the film will need to be taken into consideration, as the upload limit is 8GB. To test Musk’s latest claims, we are confident that many would love to test out this feature.

Sure enough, one user with the Twitter handle @coinbilly_ uploaded ‘Shrek the Third,’ which is a 2007 well-known computer-animated film with a duration of one hour and 32 minutes, indicating that the feature works. What is also interesting is that there have been no copyright claims or DMCA notices to take down the movie, as it is intellectual property, and Musk has yet to address these queries.

While scrolling down the massive thread, we noticed that the ‘Shrek the Third’ was the only movie uploaded by a verified Twitter Blue user, so it is hard to say that if this will work on other movies. Another thing that we are contemplating is if recent movies can be uploaded within the duration or size limitations. For instance, would it be possible to upload a movie that was officially released in 2023, or will that be taken down too?

It appears this level of experimentation is for you Twitter Blue subscribers, and speaking of them, if you have not yet subscribed to the service, you can follow these detailed instructions. After subscribing, could you upload entire movies in the 2-hour duration and 8GB size limit? Tell us in the comments.
