Dead by Daylight Celebrates its Anniversary with New Single Player Interactive Story Game and PvE Game

Dead By Daylight’s seventh anniversary is almost here, and as is customary, each anniversary brings big reveals or sweeping changes to the game. In 2020, players saw Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason added as playable characters, along with Midwich Elementary School as a map. 2021 added Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Leon S. Kennedy, and Jill Valentine while updating the game’s ranking system, to name a few examples.

This year, things showcase a new turn for the team. While there will be a brand-new chapter coming with the anniversary, we’ve now left Earth altogether. Dead By Daylight: END TRANSMISSION will be the latest chapter. This new chapter will also introduce an original survivor, Gabriel Soma, an original Killer, The Singularity, and their respective map, Toba Landing, on June 13th.

PC users will be able to opt into the Public Test Build next week. That’s not all; Nicolas Cage will wind up joining the roster of Dead By Daylight later this year, and players are encouraged to find out more this July. No release date or perk information was revealed for Nicolas Cage just yet, but it’s likely he’ll be the same thing as Ash Williams or Mikaela Reid (a solo Survivor not tied to a chapter).

Dead by Daylight Supermassive Games

On the cosmetic side, two new collections will be coming soon, paying tribute to metal legends Iron Maiden and Slipknot. The Iron Maiden collection focuses on band figurehead Eddie and its various appearances on their album covers, whereas the Slipknot collection features nine masked themed after the various members of Slipknot. No release date has been disclosed as of yet.

This trend continues with the Artists from The Fog Collection, featuring artists from Poland, Spain, Canada, and the United States, with Creative Director Ikumi Nakamura (from Japan) creating seven new cosmetics later this Summer. Finally, The Trapper will be getting a special Naughty Bear-themed costume in the future, with a completely separate Mori from his original one.

As for other projects that Behaviour has in mind, there are a few updates. First off, the team working on Dead By Daylight has teamed with Supermassive Games to create a single-player interactive story title set in the world of Dead By Daylight (with more information to come later in 2023). Next up, Midwinter Interactive, who joined Behaviour Interactive, will be working on a PVE game set in the Dead By Daylight universe, tackling themes of greed and lust for power. This project will see teams of 4 players exploring a newer corner of The Entity’s Realm, with more information to come later.

Dead by Daylight

Back in March, Behaviour announced its plans to develop a Dead By Daylight movie with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, and they’re now in the recruitment process for a director and screenwriter. Finally, the first issue of the Dead By Daylight comic, produced by Titan Comics ( Blade Runner, Doctor Who, etc.), will be released digitally and physically in early June.

We’ll continue to update as more information on Dead By Daylight and its associated projects is released. Dead By Daylight is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, The Epic Games Store, and Windows 10 Store.
