Galaxy Z Flip 5 Leaks in Official Renders, Showing the New Cover Screen Atop the Same Style That We Have Been Seeing for the Past 3 Years

The weekends seem like an excellent time for foldable phones as yesterday we saw the leak of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Pixel Fold, and today, we have our first look at the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in all its glory, giving us a look at the device from every angle, and finally letting us have a glimpse at the new cover screen, a first proper design upgrade on the Flip lineup since 2020.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 renders smile for the camera, finally showing us the new, larger cover display but the same design

The leaked renders are coming from @OnLeaks in partnership with MediaPeanut, and show us the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the Phantom Black color that has become synonymous with Samsung at this point. The renders show us the phone both closed and open, so you can have a good idea of what you are getting.

The renders show the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with its brand new cover screen, and honestly, I am glad that Samsung finally decided to upgrade the screen. The previous phones from this generation came with a rather small cover display that made little to no sense. However, we are still not sure if this screen is going to offer the full functionality of a touch screen and One UI 5.1 or will be limited like the screen on the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

As far as the dimensions are concerned, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 dimensions largely remain unchanged. The internal display measures 6.7 inches. We are expecting it to be an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The external display is 3.4 inches and not the 3.8 inch that was previously rumored, but we currently do not know the specs of this display. As for the measurement, the phone measures 165 x 71.8 x 6.7mm when unfolded, making it one of the thinnest phones.

The source has also claimed that Samsung has doubled the production of both of the upcoming foldable phones, giving us another idea that this time, we might get the devices earlier than expected. The rest of the specs would also include Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, a dual camera setup, and more. We will keep you posted as we get to hear more information on these devices. Until then, stay tuned.
