Apple 15.5-inch Macbook Air Launch

Apple announced that it will be hosting its WWDC 2023 event on June 5 where it will see fit to announce iOS 17 and other major updates for the iPad, Apple Watch, Macs, and more. Apart from software updates, Apple will also announce the new 15.5-inch MacBook Air and the AR Headset. It is now being reported that panel production of the larger 15.5-inch MacBook Air is underway and the machine could indeed launch at Apple's WWDC 2023 event. Scroll down to read more details on the subject.

Apple's 15.5-Inch MacBook Air could be announced at WWDC 2023 event as panel production is underway

Prominent display analyst Ross Young stated in his latest tweet that Apple started 15.5-inch display production in February of this year which corresponds to the forthcoming M2 MacBook Air. Young did not share the exact launch time frame of the 15.5-inch MacBook Air but suggested that it could take place by the end of April or at the beginning of May.

This is not the first time Young has coined that Apple will launch the bigger MacBook Air in April. We were previously expecting Apple to host a Spring event to announce the machine but unfortunately, no details were heard. Furthermore, it is unlikely that Apple will announce the machine via a press release. Henceforth, the only viable time frame for Apple to launch the 15.5-inch MacBook Air is its WWDC 2023 event.

The launch time frame aside, we can be sure that the company is indeed working on a bigger MacBook Air. If you are not familiar, the 15.5-inch model will feature the same design as the 13.6-inch model that made its debut last year in June. You can expect a bigger screen size with a notch along with a bigger battery due to its size. We are also not clear how Apple will price the MacBook Air but it will be higher than the 13.6-inch variant. We have also heard that Apple is working on a slightly smaller OLED MacBook model with a 13.4-inch display size.

In terms of internals, the larger MacBook Air will be powered by the M2 chip, the same chip that powers the 13.6-inch variant. However, there are chances that the device could also come with Apple's M2 Pro chip or the M3 chip. However, it all depends if the latest chip based on TSMC's 3nm architecture is ready by June.

This is all there is to it, folks. Would you opt for a bigger MacBook Air given how portability is one of the best aspects of the notebook? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
