The Outlast Trials Enters Early Access on May 18

After the Closed Beta period of The Outlast Trials, Red Barrels has announced that the game will enter an Early Access state. Now, the game will be available for players on PC on both Steam and Epic Games Store come May 18, 2023. According to the company, the closed beta was only a taste of what would come. The Early Access version of The Outlast trials will improve the feedback received during the beta to improve the experience.

On Halloween, players were able to have a great experience that ran from October 28, 2022 to November 1. The Closed Beta for The Outlast Trials was quite successful as almost 1 million players signed up to it, curious about the challenges that the Murkoff Sinyakla Facility would bring. According to Red Barrels, players logged a total of 35 years of play time spent during the Closed Beta weekend.

Now, Murkoff will open its doors once again to the general public, letting even more players experience the grueling trials on May 18 of this year. The announcement comes with a new trailer for the game which you can watch below:

Phillipe Morin, the co-founder of Red Barrels, stated that the Closed Beta period for The Outlast Trials brought some insightful feedback that is going to be used to improve the overall experience for players. The executive also expressed excitement as Red Barrels looks forward to welcoming more players to the Trials as they take place once the games comes to Early Access.

  • 225,363 player deaths
  • 656,180 players incapacitated
  • 352,851,550 secs (11 years) spent in Night Vision
  • 1,841,161 number of times Active Skill was used
  • 35 years total time spent in The Outlast Trials by players during the Closed Beta

The Outlast Trials will bring players back to the Cold War era as they take on the role of test subjects that have been kidnapped by the Murkoff Corporation. Players will be subjected to experiments in which their physical and mental limits will be put to the test as they are tormented by iconic characters from the series. The feature that makes this game stick out over the rest is that players can take the challenge either alone or in teams to survive and keep their sanity in check.

Red Barrels has only stated that the game will enter its Early Access period of May 18. Information about the pricing and content that will come in this version of the game will be revealed soon, so stay tuned for more information.
