The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition Offers Next-Gen Visual Upgrades, All DLC, More

The Outer Worlds

2019’s The Outer Worlds was a rock-solid sci-fi RPG, but it perhaps didn’t quite make the impact developer Obsidian had hoped. Well, the game is getting another turn in the spotlight, as Obsidian has announced The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will launch next month. This version of the game, only coming to PC and next-gen consoles, will include all previously-released DLC, as well as visual upgrades, better performance, quicker load times, and other hand-dandy features. You can check out a trailer for the Spacer’s Choice Edition, below.

Looks like a pretty nice upgrade! Need to know more about The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition? Here’s the official description…

“The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is the ultimate way for new and returning fans alike to experience the beloved RPG. Higher resolution graphics, a dynamic weather system, overhauled lighting and environments, improved performance and load times, enhanced details on characters, an increased level cap, and much more await spacers who bravely and boldly carve their path through the conspiratorial Halcyon colony.”

The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will set you back a full $60, but again, you’re getting all the game’s DLC, including the “Murder on Eridanos” and “Peril on Gorgon” expansions, along with a variety of new features. That said, if you already own the game on PC, Xbox One, or PS4, you can upgrade to the new version for only $10.

Missed out on The Outer Worlds the first time around? Wccftech’s Alessio Palumbo found it to be an entertaining if somewhat predictable Obsidian outing in his full review

“The Outer Worlds is exactly what you'd expect from Obsidian. The first-person action RPG features a great setting, fantastic writing, and remarkable, complex characters to meet. The moment-to-moment gameplay isn't as exciting, though, failing to measure up with the best in the genre. Still, there's plenty to like here as long as you know what you're getting into.”

The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition launches on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on March 7. What do you think? Interested in the upgrade?
